With the release of „Vienna is Calling You“, Plattform K+K Vienna, Austria’s most diverse chamber ensemble, has erected a monument to its musical home town of Vienna. Kirill Kobantschenko, a first violinist in the Vienna Philharmonic, has assembled his friends and intermittent associates to produce a powerful album, a virtuosic combination of Viennese classicism and new sounds.

Ever since its foundation in 2009 and its first concert in Vienna’s Musikverein, Plattform K+K Vienna has breathed new life into unknown or rarely heard pieces of music.

„Vienna Is Calling You“ brings together founding members Kirill Kobantschenko (violin), Florian Eggner (cello), Aurora Nozomi Cany (viola) and Christoph Eggner (piano) with guest artist Christian Bakanic (accordion). It is devoted exclusively to Viennese music with one exception, Osvaldo Goliijov’s Tenebrae.
